Austrian Eco-label "Green Location", "Green Meeting"
The Congress Centrum Alpbach (CCA) has been following sustainable principles for years. With the large extension in 2016, new standards were set for the building. The high level of energy efficiency as well as the economical use of electricity, which also comes one hundred percent from hydropower, are just a few measures from a long list that are fulfilled.
For this, and also for its sustainable event management, the Congress Centrum Alpbach (CCA) has now again received the "Green Location" award in August 2021.
"In the meantime, the CCA's sustainability strategy has become an integral part of our corporate philosophy, and more and more customers and partners are resolutely following this path," says Thomas Kahn, interim. Managing Director of the CCA, is pleased.
But it is not only the CCA that has been following a sustainable course since 2008. Also the growing number of the Alpbacher catering and accommodation businesses, which let themselves be certified with the Austrian environmental mark. With the eco-label certification by Federal Minister Leonore Gewessler, 13 accommodation businesses have now received the eco-label certificate in August 2021 and the Alpbachtal region thus holds the largest density of certified enterprises in Austria.
Re-certification "Green Globe" 2022
Already Green Globe certified for the first time in 2010, CCA also demonstrates pioneering performance in this international certification process. Based on the three pillars of environmental friendliness, social responsibility and economic viability, 41 mandatory certification criteria must be met and, in addition, performance improvement must be demonstrated annually. CCA is proud to have successfully achieved Green Globe re-certification in 2022.
The CCA works closely with the municipality, the tourism association and the catering and accommodation businesses in the Alpbachtal region to promote sustainability throughout the region and to encourage and support sustainable initiatives.
