The various rooms/halls in the Congress Centrum Alpbach are named after notable personalities and sponsors, who have special associations with the "European Forum Alpbach". Austria’s most important composer in recent years Gottfried von Einem (1918 - 1996) created a musical memorial for Alpbach with the "Alpbacher Tanzserenade". Von Einem created notes and sounds to express his feelings about luck, death and dreams. Von Einem is considered a representative of restrained modernism between neo-classicism and neo-romantic. His pupil B. Blacher was chairman of the arts council of the Salzburg Festival at the Wiener Musikakademie.
