Major milestones:
- 1998: demolition of the former Kongresshaus Alpbach (Paula von Preradovic Haus); construction start of today’s Congress Centrum Alpbach
- 1999: opening of the new Congress Centrum Alpbach; ceremonial inauguration during the European Forum Alpbach
- 2015: start of expansion work
- 2016: opening of the new extension, bringing the total area to 2,800 m²
