Accessibility at the CCA
Focus on inclusion
We believe that valuable knowledge is only created through equal exchange. As a conference venue, we are committed to ensuring that all guests have equal access to our services, and we fully comply with the ÖNORM B1600 standard.
Accessibility is a priority at Congress Centrum Alpbach, and we continuously strive to improve our services to create an environment where all guests can participate in events without limitations.
Arrival & parking
The bus stop “Alpbach Böglerhof” is just 200 metres from Congress Centrum Alpbach, offering easy access to public transport.
For those arriving by car, the CCA’s underground car park provides 24-hour access and includes two designated accessible parking spaces and five electric charging stations. The main entrance to the venue is accessible via a passenger lift directly from the car park.
Entrance & break area
The common areas of Congress Centrum Alpbach boast wide, step-free access points:
- Level 1 West: ground-level access with an automatic sliding glass door (180 cm wide)
- Level 1 East: step-free access with a glass door (110 cm wide)
- Level 2: ground-level access with a glass door (100 cm wide)
- Staircase from Level 1 East to Level 2: step markings and handrails on both sides
The lifts in the building are also largely accessible, with all of them featuring 24-hour emergency call buttons and extended movement space for easy entry and exit (at least 150 x 120 cm). The control buttons are positioned between 85 cm and 110 cm in height, and the lift doors are sufficiently wide (90 cm on Level 1 West and 140 cm on Level 1 East).
Rooms and halls
All rooms of the CCA are accessible without stairs, ensuring easy entry for all guests. Doors range in width from at least 90 cm to 250 cm. In addition, the “Herz-Kremenak” and “Schrödinger” plenary halls are equipped with an induction hearing system, ensuring optimal audio quality. On request, ramps can also be added to the stage to further improve access.
Restroom facilities
All three levels are equipped with spacious restroom areas. On Level 1 West, there is a fully accessible restroom with the following features:
- step-free access
- dimensions: 155 x 270 cm
- toilet door: 85 cm wide, easy to operate, opens outward
- surrounding space: 65 cm to the left and 55 cm to the right of the toilet seat
- toilet height: 49 cm
- stable grab rails on both sides of the toilet
- accessible sink with automatic single-lever mixer
- soap dispenser and paper towels positioned at 100 cm height
- emergency call system
