Committed to the industry code
fairpflichtet is the sustainability code of the German-speaking event industry. Initiated by the German Convention Bureau and Europäische Verband der Veranstaltungs-Centren e. V., the project’s primary goal is to establish shared sustainability standards. By signing this industry code for sustainability, Congress Centrum Alpbach has committed itself to the ten guidelines for sustainable action. Learn more about the specific measures!
Industry code for sustainability
The fairpflichtet initiative is based on ten guiding principles. The goal: to consider economic, ecological and social aspects in daily business practices. Personal responsibility and open communication also play key roles. As a Green Meeting destination, Congress Centrum Alpbach aims to take an active role in climate protection and sustainable event management, which is why we have committed to the shared goals of the industry code.
The guidelines:
- Strategy: conscious goal-setting in the area of sustainability and maintenance of the sustainability profile
- Opportunities: sustainability management for forward-thinking action options
- Common good: promotion of the regional economy and partners from the Alpbachtal region
- Economy: environmental and social risks are considered in decisions
- Resources: responsible handling of energy, food and other resources
- Social competence: targeted support of employees
- Respect: rejection of all forms of discrimination and corruption
- Openness: transparent external sustainability communication
- Self-commitment: personal responsibility is highly valued
- Creating incentives: for our environment, our guests and our partners
