Certificates and awards

The Austrian Ecolabel (UZ) (“Österreichische Umweltzeichen, UZ”) is one of the most prestigious certifications in sustainability and climate protection. Congress Centrum Alpbach has been a licensee of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings & Green Events (UZ 62) since 2010 and has held the “Green Location” Ecolabel (UZ 200) since 2016.

Receiving the Green Globe Certificate in the tourism sector was an important milestone for us – especially because we were the first event venue to be honoured with this prestigious certification. Find out more about the awarding process and the measures we have implemented!

For our extension building, we were awarded the Silver Plaque of the “klimaaktiv” initiative by the Austrian Federal Ministry. With the help of sustainable planning and smart technology, we were able to meet the strict guidelines in the fields of energy efficiency, building technology and indoor climate. We are pleased to have been awarded the Healthcare Venue Certificate, meeting the guidelines for events in the healthcare sector. Numerous congresses in this field are regularly held in Alpbach. We see ourselves as part of a large community that shapes the future in the fields of Health & Wellness, Nursing, Research and Science.

We have voluntarily committed to following the ten principles of the sustainability code for the events industry. These include sustainable resource management, strategic business decisions, responsible employee management and transparent communication.
