Silver for Congress Centrum Alpbach

klimaaktiv building

At one with nature

The “klimaaktiv Bauen und Sanieren” program awards buildings in Austria that meet specific sustainability criteria. The certificate is a visible sign that organisations are contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and working towards achieving shared climate goals. In 2016, Congress Centrum Alpbach became the first event venue to receive the klimaaktiv silver plaque for its extension building, meeting the strict quality criteria. A climate protection initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry

klimaaktiv

klimaaktiv is a nationwide initiative for active climate protection by Austria’s Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism (BMLFUW). The organisation’s efforts focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the areas of construction and renovation, renewable energy, traffic and municipalities. In addition to a building’s energy efficiency, the initiative also assesses the planning and execution level, the quality of building materials and construction, as well as key aspects of comfort and spatial quality.

In awarding the klimaaktiv silver plaque to Congress Centrum Alpbach, all of the required criteria were met. The jury particularly highlighted the sustainable planning and implementation of the extension project.
