Awards are visible signs of ongoing dedication. That’s why we are proud and pleased to have received various awards from esteemed expert juries in the fields of tourism, business and environmental and climate protection. These accolades strengthen our resolve to continue on our proven path together with our guests and to further enhance our efforts in the area of Green Meetings and sustainability.
Austrian Congress Award
Georg Hechenblaikner, former Managing Director of Congress Centrum Alpbach, was honoured with the prestigious Austrian Congress Award in 2017. The award was given in recognition of his numerous visionary initiatives, tireless commitment and role as a thought leader in the field of Green Meetings.
IMA Award
In 2013, the jury of the IMA Awards awarded Congress Centrum Alpbach for their creativity in terms of environmental protection, their use of the latest technology and significant reduction in CO2 emissions through ongoing sustainable measures. An entire village committed to greater sustainability - an innovative project and model example.
Meeting Experts Green Award
Every two years, a panel of experts awards the Meeting Experts Green Award during the green meetings and events conference. In 2013, Congress Centrum Alpbach was nominated in the category of Sustainable Event Center/Venue. Experts from the event industry and environmental organisations evaluated the submissions based on their innovation and originality, feasibility and transferability, significance and relevance, cost and benefit, as well as evaluation and documentation. The Meeting Experts Green Award is organised by GCB German Convention Bureau e.V. and the European Association of Event Centers e.V. (EVVC).
TRIGOS Austria
TRIGOS is Austria’s most important award for sustainability and corporate social responsibility. The evaluation of the submitted companies focuses on their social and environmental efforts. The award was established in 2003 by business representatives and NGOs to honour companies that set a positive example. In 2011, Congress Centrum Alpbach was nominated for its submitted project, “Green Meeting Destination Alpbach.”
Tirol Touristica
In 2011, the Green Meeting destination of Alpbach received the prestigious Tirol Touristica award for our commitment to Green Meetings. Established by Tirol Werbung, this award recognises outstanding tourism projects and forward-thinking ideas on a regional and national level. It focuses on particularly innovative and sustainable initiatives. The award is based on the three pillars of sustainability and the tourism strategy “Der Tiroler Weg” (“The Tyrolean Way”). Congress Centrum Alpbach is proud to have received this prestigious prize in the marketing category.
