Austrian Ecolabel
Congress Centrum Alpbach offers perfect conditions for hosting conferences, meetings and events organised with economic, ecological and social sustainability in mind. Our Austrian Ecolabels for “Green Meetings and Green Events” (UZ 62) and “Green Location” (UZ 200) are visible signs of this commitment. Green Meetings & Green Events
Since 2010, Congress Centrum Alpbach has been a licensee of the Austrian Ecolabel for “Green Meetings & Green Events”. To achieve this certification, numerous internal processes have been optimised to make event execution even more sustainable. Our goal is to be a leader in key environmental areas:
- high energy efficiency of used technology
- catering with regional and seasonal products
- promotion of sustainable travel options
- procurement based on sustainable criteria
- comprehensive waste management concept
- digital information management & printing according to the Ecolabel guidelines for printed materials
- social & cultural considerations
When it comes to local accommodation for our conference guests, we are committed to ensuring that our partners uphold the same sustainability concept and, where possible, are also certified themselves.

We are happy to advise and support you on your path to a Green Meeting certification. Congress Centrum Alpbach is considered a prime example of energy efficiency and building technology. In 2016, we were certified with the Austrian Ecolabel “Green Location” (UZ 200) for our efforts in this area.
Ecological measures:
- geothermal heat pump for heating and cooling
- peak load coverage with pellets
- facade with integrated photovoltaic panels
- 100 per cent regional green electricity
