EFA & the people

Growing together

How people shape the EFA

The European Forum Alpbach lives from the people who shape it - and from those who support it with openness, curiosity and commitment. Whether locals - who still call the European Forum Alpbach “College”, long-standing companions or young voices from all over the world: encounters are created in Alpbach that will be remembered. This place brings together personalities who might otherwise never have met - and creates connections that have an impact far beyond the summer.

How does the European Forum Alpbach shape the people in the village and vice versa, how does the village of Alpbach shape the participants of the European Forum Alpbach?
The Alpbach bakers benefit (in addition to the economic aspect) from meeting interesting people who are either very different from themselves or very similar, despite superficial differences. For the Forum participants, on the other hand, Alpbach and its inhabitants offer not only a backdrop, but also a grounding. They complement each other in their perspectives and knowledge.

Which people immediately come to mind in connection with the European Forum Alpbach and why?
The scholarship holders, because they herald the Forum with their enthusiasm, and the municipal workers and SPAR employees, because they announce the Forum with their hustle and bustle even before the first participants arrive.
